truth be told this glorious bag is from dollar general
and the white wedding hydrangas from central market
our view from our posh pad overlooking the palace
aka- the tv in our living room

of this spectacular moment in history
it's been a splendid affair!
thank you lady rachel and lord taylor
for making it special and oh so posh

5 on friday!

hello lovelies! the weekend is here
and i couldn't be happier
my love and partner in crime-TV is turning 30 + 1 tomorrow!
i have some adventures planned to celebrate his birthday

hope you enjoy my 5 on friday
and have a fabulous weekend!

this is the swimming pool art installation in 21st century museum of art, at kanazawa japan
by artist leandro erlich. The top surface is filled with 4 to 5 inches of water
that looks like a realistic pool. the people underneath the swimming pool
can actually look above with realistic water effect on top of it.
HOW COOL IS THAT OR WHAT?
i love tee pees! and i love camping..ok- let's re-phrase that- i love glamping.
la la lovelys' post on them reminded me just how glamourous they can be. hello?
when can i move in? DIY backyard project soon?

how women see color and how i man sees color
i usually disagree with gender stereotypes but this one is spot on

sooo beautiful!!!
and for all you yogis out there
list that made me laugh my asana off
all the way to savasana
HA!!!

music for thursday

music for thursday
FREELANCE WHALES
water for elephants
(can't wait!)
yes i'm random but go with it:)

when i first heard freelance whales...i wanted to know more
who are these amazing creatures that create this fantastic music?
heres what i found online:

Freelance Whales found one another in late 2008, in Queens, amidst a strange amalgam of unfamiliar instruments, and precariously arranged pop songs. Using whatever musical gadgets they happened upon (mostly harmonium, banjo, glockenspiel, synthesizers, guitars, bass, drums, waterphone), the five members worked at crafting songs with interlocking rhythmic patterns, lush textural layering, and an engaged group-vocal energy. The result is their debut LP, weathervanes, whose songs work at evoking a sense of dislocation, or sensory disorientation. They invite the human spirit to exit the body, if only for brief moments. Freelance Whales can be spotted in the streets and humble venues of New York City, and in due time, elsewhere.

wow-that is a lot of instruments!
i agree with the description of their music that
'invites the human spirit to exit the body'
i know it sounds deep but take a listen for yourself
this is their south by southwest show

in the beginning-i love how their voices become one more instrument
pretty amazing!
and the musician hubby pointed out their 5 part harmony-impressive!!!

this past weekend in indio california
COACHELLA 2011 happened!
a 3 day music festival that takes place once a year and is truly amazing!

and posting a pic from my 2007 visit to indio for coachella

i was a complete hot mess for all 3 days...
but it was so worth it!

sported at the festival

i am looking forward to some outdoor summer shows
i'm super excited about arcade fire next week

what better way to unwind
than on a lawn with a blanket, friends, and good food and drinks
listening to cheesycover bands? it's awesome!!!
