salad pizza!!!

so in church my tummy was rumblin and i was thinking what to make for lunch. i really wanted the nutritional benefits of a salad but also was in the mood for something to munch on. BINGO- salad pizza! i basically took my favorite salad and put it on a flat out wrap. thanks to my bf gabby i made it crispy this time. when using flat out wraps you have to cook it 7 minutes before topping to get the crust crispy- thanks again for the tip nuni!

handful of spinach
about 5 basil leaves (roll into cigars and chop)
1/2 small red onion/scallion chopped in semi circles
2 T toasted slivered almonds
about 6 strawberries cut into circles and soaked in balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup reduced fat feta
1/2 T EVOO drizzled on top of the toppings

top already toasted flat out wrap with feta, spinach, basil, onions, almonds and add strawberries and olive oil drizzle to the top- eat and enjoy!

a personal note from the chef: this recipe was sooooo tasty i am making it for lunch tomorrow :) taylor even LOVED it! sometimes when i make my recipes he doesn't like how 'healthy' they taste- but he said this one is a keeper!!!

yummmmmy! these are like healthy chips. and only 25 calories for one pack- delish! i is the perfect salty crunchy treat to satisfy your 'snacky' craving. taylor and i bought 2 packs at whole foods today after church for 99c each and finished them before we even made lunch. they were that good! the pic i added says there is 24 to a pack- i think ours was smaller than that- the package we bought says 0.2 oz (6g). i was worried that they might have too much salt but one serving(one pack) is only 60g sodium. the ingredients include seaweed, sesame oil, and sea salt. i am teaching the 4 o'clock class today but i might have to go back to whole foods and buy more. seriously so good! i also made a fabulous flat out salad pizza for lunch that i will add later. no time now- got to get to the studio!

buy it today!


ALOHA! i'm back from the beach-and boy do i have a book for you! hilary (hot mama to be and my sister in law) let me borrow it after she was done. the carol(aka my loving mom) had raved about it and then hilary raved about it as well so i figured i had to check it out myself. i could not put it down! on the way home on the plane i was missing valuable sleeping time crying real tears at the end. it was that good. i don't want to go into details because you have to see for yourself. but it was an excellent book and i highly recommend it. check out reviews here

i love type






yes it is true- i love type. i majored in visual communication...which is funny to me because i try to VERBally communicate on a daily basis what my students are suppose to do which there bodies in the yoga positions with very little visual communication. but that is a whole other story..i digress. anyways, in my spare time i do enjoy my creative visual projects. they keep me sane. these images caught my eye this morning and i just had to share them with you. enjoy!

salad monday



why does a salad on monday seem to forgive all the wrongs you did over the weekend?
because it just does :) at least that is my take on it

my version of the waldorf salad
a few sliced red grapes/few slices of pear
sliced celery (on a slant-prettier)
2 T toasted almonds
3 oz chicken breast
field greens and baby spinach
1T organicville herb dressing
almost forgot- sliced red onion or shallots- yum!
