breakfast for dinner

so i love me some eggs. and for some reason eating breakfast for dinner makes me feel special, like a little child learning to ride a bike for the first time. i made this the other night. sauteed some onions, corn, and red peppers and then added a little bit of spinach to the top. heres the kicker though- central markets 'roaring tomatillo sauce.' the salsa is key.

quarterlife

okay- i'm obsessed and the show has just started. remember would you would tune into my so called life, turn out the lights and have a good old fashion sob fest? or was that just me....? anyways- this show demonstrates the same kind of emotional depth claire danes expressed as the sad coming of age angela chase only for 20-somethings. for those of us(in our 20's:) stuck in a rut or experiencing an overall lack of inspiration this show is for you. i hope that doesn't make me sound too jaded.

tuberose

tuberose is a perennial plant of the agave family agavaceae, extracts of which are used as a top note in perfumery(yes i wikipediad that).they have a gardenia smell to them that is so fragrantly yummy.

local

i don't know how to describe the goodness that is local without fearing i am saying too little or too much. local is a gem of a restaurant located in deep ellum on elm street. the design aesthetic and presentation in everything they do is impeccable and of course the food is amazing. i have added some images but really they don't do it justice. local proves that less really is more.

you kids have come a long way-rock on with yo bad self!

a blast from the past

i thought i would add another post because my previous one feels so lonely. here are some pics from christmas. i made taylor this ginger cake and delicious quiche. i think the quiche called for about 5 different cheeses...maybe 6. but that's what resolutions are for-right?

going raw

i was inspired by an article i read in dominos' march 2008 issue about raw foodie zoe sakoutis. i tried one of her resipes for nori lettuce wraps and i have to say i am a fan! i even did the husband test - and he approved! i added annes' ginerly vinaigrette to bump up the flavor. don't know if it's actually considered 'raw' but hey it's organic and that works for me.
