week 4

so bikram made a deal with us tonight that if no one sat out during class or left the room we would get the night off. that means no lecture and no movies until 2 am. well we made it out unscathed- yay! the night is ours. i was so happy i could have kissed the man! kara and i decided to get grocery shopping out of the way - we just got back with our goods and are stocked for another week of yoga and more yoga.

this week was by far the most difficult for me. i don't know if it was because i was feeling sick at the beginning of the week or i was sleep deprived but i definitely felt run over. so i'm glad that is over and done with for now- and grateful to have made it out alive:) on to the next adventure/challenge!

i added some pics of my awesome posture clinic group- no 15! what what?! i am so lucky to be in such a encouraging and supportive group- everyone has great energy and we all feed off of one another. also added a pic of the surprise fireworks that sounded as loud as sledge hammers outside our room after class. f is for fireworks and friday!

kara and i are about to do some dialog and hit the sack-

-love you guys!

dialog dialog dialog

thank the lord that tomorrow is friday. i was talking with kara today at lunch and we were saying how we feel so preoccupied with trying to do dialog that we have forgotten to smile. seriously -during the first few weeks i had so many awakenings and spiritual clarity. we would play music in the room to get pumped up for class- sing really loud and be happy. now we don't have time to be happy -no time for anything besides dialog dialog dialog. i find myself saying it when i am walking, during class, in the shower- 24/7 dialog!!!!

this weekend i am trying to get 3 postures ahead. but don't worry nothing crazy- i am going to try to take breaks and relax a little bit in between. i haven't even walked on the beach yet!?! hello - we have been hear almost 4 full weeks. i guess it is just difficult for me to take a deep breath and soak it all up because i know there is still so much to do.

i am so excited to come out of this and go on to my next journey of becoming an amazing strong teacher but honestly it feels so far away at this moment in time.

saved by the bell

just got done with lecture

seriously we lucked out- bikram let us go after teasing us for about 10 minutes that we would be watching another bollywood film

honestly when he said we could go i have never felt happier...

sleep is such a precious comodity here and i need every second of it because i am beginning to not recognize my face in the mirror

sleep tight

yoga reject

this morning- wasn't feeling it

felt like a solid lampost concrete brick of no flexibility which made me feel like a yoga reject

didn't help that i had nasty fungus feet hitting my face the whole last half of class while runny nose next to me blew his snot into his towel an inch away from my mat

getting discouraged with this whole no sleeping thing

skipping lunch to sleep and go over dialog

blah blah blah

sorry but that is all i feel this morning

hopefully i can get some gusto for posture clinic in a couple of hours

davids' class rocked!

so david taught the morning class today! go dallas- represent!!  i kind of had a feeling he was going to teach because i had a dream the night before that he was in my posture clinic and i was really nervous because i wanted to do perfect dialog. yes i am 100 percent thinking about yoga even in my sleep-quite pathetic i know. anyways- it was great to have him up there with 300 plus people- it was a high energy class(which surprised me since we were up until 2 with bikram watching movies) and i found myself wanting to do every posture perfect in font of my 'boss'.  i knew it was a david buckner class when my thighs were burning in awkward- thanks david!

today i did standing head to knee in posture clinic- it went good and stacey (from grapevine) said i was really watching my students. on to bow pulling!

just ate din din with my roomie and studied dialog. we are off to lecture! pray we get out at a decent hour. people are sooo tired here from last night tension is on high alert. i think if we all have to stay up again we are going to be officially mad- coo coo-screw loose brain yogis---

week 3-fight or flight

in anatomy this week we learned about the fight or flight- the acute stress response. most of the the time i am able to push through the stress with that inner voice in my head saying 'fight fight fight-lock your flippin knee and rock the posture like a champ!'  it's sunday and i think the flight part of it finally caught up to me. i woke up a bit sick and what did my crazy self decide to do? do more yoga even on our one day off! i just figured a class would clear away some of the junk in my system causing me to cough, have a sore throat and headache. it helped a little but i still feel crappy.

this week was difficult. i had visions in class of my family, me and my little brothers playing in the backyard when we were little and my mom. why does a 28 year old adult think about her mothers' love? well because i'm a big baby! :) no i think it because under these conditions...i miss that nuturing aspect. we are all thrown into this yoga monster together to only hope and pray we will make it out on top. there is no time to even think or pay attention to your current pain or worry because the time you spend giving it attention or energy will just get you behind. so we have but only one choice to push forward and onward. but god help me- some classes are such a beat down you wish you had someone to rescue you from your impending doom.

went to the spa to study anatomy and sit in the suana to do dialog. one really cool thing about the spa at the hotel - they play bjork. it's amazing how some sense of familiarity of home can be channeled through a song. music can truly elevate the mind. it's funny here because in the little la cafe- where we go to grab drinks and salads after the evening class for dinner they blast pavarotti. i don't get it but whatever.

so we were told to know about 4 postures for next week and we have anatomy test tomorrow. yay for brain overloading. i have 1 posture down for the next week and i just need to review and perfect the other 3. so long for now- off to study study study.

to all my friends and family - i miss you all so much and i appreciate your love and support!
